About Smartest Energy

  • Established in 2020, Smartest Energy is one of very few UK owned electricity supply companies.

  • Having passed the new, more stringent Ofgem requirements for entry to the market, Smartest Energy also has warranties and guarantees in place to ensure customers have certainty of supply.

  • All LOA’s need to be on customer letter headed paper. Where the customer does not have letter head, Smartest Energy require to see the trail of correspondence to the broker asking them to terminate (or whatever action it may be). 

  • Dual Energy has now launched "Budget Plans". This means that Smartest Energy offer fixed monthly amounts rather than variable amounts. The DD's are then reviewed to ensure it falls in line with the customer's actual consumption.

Renewal Cycle

Smartest Energy will accept a renewal up to 180 days in advance of the contract end date. There is no need to serve termination if renewing with Smartest Energy.

MD meters can be renewed for a period of 12 months on their existing MD profiles

Termination 

Termination can be logged at any point from the contract start date up until 30 days before the contract end date, if termination is not provided within 30 days of the contract end date, Smartest Energy will move the customer onto a SmartFlex Variable Tariff. 30 days notice will be required.

Credit & Business Acceptance

Dual Energy do not accept supplies which are:

  • Leasehold pubs, restaurants, takeaways

  • Any business with an unsettled CCJ

  • Customers with a score of 20 or less

 

  • Freehold pubs, hotels, convenience stores and care homes require a score of  35 or more

  • Smartest Energy cannot 01 / 02 profile meters unless proof of business is provided 

  • Supplies with EAC below 5000
